Advanced Quality Engineer

About the role

Adient is seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer to lead quality planning and customer communication for automotive seating projects. You will ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP and VDA/AIAG standards while driving continuous improvement across suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive all phases of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and prepare PPAP documentation according to AIAG and VDA guidelines.
• Lead customer communication, reporting, and satisfaction initiatives, including audits such as VDA 6.3.
• Define and manage Control Plans, Critical and Special Characteristics, and conduct MSA, capability studies, and lessons learned implementation.
• Collaborate with component and tooling suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues, including on‑site visits.
• Train quality and production personnel, participate in internal audits, and support SDT workgroups (FMEA, DFMA, etc.).

Required profile

• Engineering degree with at least 5 years of quality‑related experience in development or production environments.
• Strong knowledge of QMS standards (ISO/TS 16949, VDA, AIAG) and application of tools such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, SPC.
• Fluent in English (minimum B2) and German, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel for business.
