BAAM Control Specialist

About the role

Wise is looking for a highly motivated individual to join its Treasury Team and lead the development and execution of the Bank Account & Access Management (BAAM) framework. The role ensures risks around bank accounts, user access and payment activities are monitored within a secure SOX control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional Banking and Operations teams to define the roadmap for new partnerships and bank accounts.
• Own onboarding and off‑boarding of bank accounts within Wise’s internal infrastructure.
• Execute controls to maintain accurate records of counterparties, bank accounts, authorised signatories and user accesses.
• Review and close BAAM tickets and requests in a timely manner.
• Prepare periodic reports on BAAM operations and control effectiveness.
• Maintain up‑to‑date BAAM documentation, including user guides and risk matrices.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors to address audit queries.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in treasury or audit within a SOX control environment.
• Strong understanding of treasury operational risk management and SOX requirements.
• Experience managing a large number of bank accounts (500+) and user access governance.
• Self‑starter with critical thinking, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
