Chief Accountant

About the role

At Shapr3D we are redefining 3D design across industries. We are looking for a Chief Accountant to own financial reporting, statutory compliance and closing processes, acting as the technical accounting anchor for the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close under Hungarian Accounting Standards, UK and IFRS.
• Prepare and file statutory reports, corporate income tax, VAT (including reverse charge and OSS) and payroll‑related tax returns.
• Serve as primary liaison for external auditors, tax authorities and banking partners to secure unqualified audit opinions.
• Manage high‑volume B2C/PLG transaction accounting across Stripe, Apple App Store and Google Play, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and deferred revenue tracking.
• Oversee equity and cap‑table accounting, employee share programmes and related tax compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of ERP and accounting systems, integrating AI tools to accelerate closing.
• Monitor cash flow, banking operations, vendor payments and intercompany transactions across the international entity structure.
• Collaborate with FP&A, HR, Legal and other functions to ensure seamless accounting operations.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years as Chief or Senior Accountant in a fast‑paced tech startup or scale‑up.
• Registered Chartered Accountant (Mérlegképes könyvelő) qualification in Hungary; ACCA, DipIFR or university degree in Accounting/Finance is a plus.
• Deep hands‑on mastery of Hungarian Accounting Standards and working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP.
• Experience with SaaS business models, multi‑currency accounting and digital payment reconciliations.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
• ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Kulcs‑Soft or Navision.
• Payment platforms: Stripe, Apple App Store, Google Play.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Hungarian Accounting Standards.
