Component Engineer & Technical Specialist – Relays & Fuses

About the role

As a Component Engineer & Technical Specialist for Relays & Fuses, you will own the relay and fuse portfolio within Bosch’s Electrified Motion organization. You will act as the technical authority, shaping component strategies, technology roadmaps and supporting hardware development throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner and subject‑matter expert for relay and fuse components.
• Select appropriate relays and fuses during the design phase based on functional, performance, reliability and cost criteria.
• Develop and maintain detailed component specifications and align them with hardware teams and suppliers.
• Lead strategic component management, including technology roadmaps and supplier strategies in collaboration with EM‑CCT and EM‑PE.
• Maintain the EM Preferred Component Catalogue for relays and fuses.
• Provide technical guidance to hardware development, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Support root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving for component failures in production or field applications.
• Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends and standards related to relays and fuses.
• Identify, evaluate and develop supplier relationships and collaborate on technical requirements and performance improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
• Experience in hardware development and working with electrical/electronic components.
• Strong understanding of relay and fuse technologies, preferably in automotive applications.
• Background in component engineering, component management or hardware development processes.
• Knowledge of supplier management and technical collaboration with external partners.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a strategic approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
