Data Engineer – Hybrid – Budapest

About the role

DEPT®'s Data & AI practice is looking for a Data Engineer to join its EMEA Data craft team. Based in Budapest with a hybrid work model, you will design and deliver enterprise‑scale data solutions for leading brands while shaping technical standards across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable data architectures and pipelines for enterprise clients.
• Maintain technical standards and best practices for data engineering across EMEA.
• Guide client engagements alongside senior contributors.
• Collaborate with the broader Data & AI practice to deliver integrated solutions.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and methodologies in data engineering.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering complex data initiatives and enterprise‑scale solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and their data services.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and data orchestration tools such as Airflow or DBT.
• Experience with modern data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
