Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Silicon Labs is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join its IoT Validation Software team in Budapest. You will design, implement, test, and support software tools that automate verification of IoT MCU and wireless products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust embedded software infrastructure for automated verification of IoT chips.
• Create drivers, tests, and algorithms to validate hardware functionality.
• Troubleshoot and integrate test code with hardware test platforms.
• Support hardware and chip design engineers in using validation tools.
• Collaborate with global hardware, systems, and engineering groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional software development experience (any level).
• Knowledge of hardware programming at chip and board level.
• Hardware debugging skills and familiarity with ANSI C or C++.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across locations.

Required skills

• ANSI C, C++ programming.
• Object‑oriented programming in Python, C# or Java.
• Software build techniques and revision control tools.
• Software testing methodologies.
• Experience with AI‑powered productivity tools (optional).
• Understanding of automated test environments, laboratory equipment.NET, XML, PowerBI (highly desirable).
