HSE Coordinator

About the role

The HSE Coordinator will ensure safe and healthy working conditions at our Gyula facility, supporting compliance with legislation, internal policies, and sustainability initiatives. This role acts as the central point for occupational health, safety, environmental protection, and fire safety management.

Key responsibilities

• Define, monitor and verify safe working conditions and non‑hazardous processes.
• Investigate unsafe situations, maintain records, and implement preventive measures.
• Oversee compliance with relevant laws, regulations and internal HSE procedures.
• Conduct workplace accident investigations and prepare reports.
• Assess environmental health risks, organise occupational hygiene measurements and liaise with occupational health providers.
• Manage documentation and maintenance of fire alarm and firefighting equipment, and organise fire drills.
• Coordinate sustainability projects and ensure their implementation.
• Prepare environmental declarations, reports and manage hazardous material procedures.
• Handle waste‑management data reporting and support internal audits (MEBIR, KIR).
• Maintain HSE management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and ensure legal compliance.

Required profile

• Higher technical education with at least a secondary‑level specialization in occupational safety or environmental protection.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar HSE role within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) and proficient Hungarian.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict‑resolution and problem‑solving abilities.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with quick situational awareness.
