Lead Engineer – eAxle Thermal System

About the role

As a Lead Engineer for the eAxle Thermal System at Bosch, you will be the thermal expert for next‑generation electric axle platforms. You will ensure optimal thermal performance, efficiency and cost competitiveness while collaborating with international, cross‑functional teams on eMobility projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement thermal system concepts for eAxle platforms, balancing performance and cost.
• Conduct system‑level thermal simulations and predict component behavior.
• Plan, execute and analyse thermal measurements, validating simulation models.
• Maintain and improve correlation between simulation and test data.
• Act as the primary interface for thermal issues across electric machine, gearbox and power electronics domains.
• Own thermal deliverables, including requirement analysis, technical presentations and customer communication.
• Provide technical guidance on thermal management and support system‑level decision making.
• Support software‑related thermal management functions, control strategies and calibration concepts.
• Contribute to the evolution of thermal engineering methods, tools and processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Thermodynamics or a related field.
• Strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer and thermal system behavior at component and system level.
• Solid understanding of electric powertrain systems and key eMobility components.
• Experience with thermal management and cooling concepts in electrified powertrain applications.
• Proven experience with system simulation tools such as AMESIM, Simscape or Simulink.
• Good knowledge of automotive embedded software architecture and system interactions.
