Lead Food Safety Auditor (IFS/FSSC 22000/BRC) – Hungary

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Auditor to conduct food safety audits for IFS, FSSC 22000 and BRC schemes across food production, processing and distribution facilities in Hungary. The role is freelance and project‑based, with flexible, call‑based collaboration aligned to our audit calendar.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report audits against IFS, FSSC 22000, BRC and other recognized food safety schemes.
• Lead audit teams through all phases, ensuring thorough assessment of HACCP, traceability, allergen management and hygiene practices.
• Document findings in detailed audit reports, highlighting non‑conformities, observations and corrective‑action recommendations.
• Communicate results clearly to facility management, quality teams and client stakeholders.
• Maintain complete audit documentation and ensure traceability of all audit activities.
• Provide technical guidance on food safety best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes.

Required profile

• Valid IFS, FSSC 22000 or BRC Lead Auditor certification.
• Proven experience auditing food manufacturing, processing plants, cold‑chain operations or food‑service supply chains.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Familiarity with EU food safety regulations (EC 852/2004, EC 853/2004).
