Lead Software Engineer (DevOps)

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Lead Software Engineer (DevOps) to own and evolve the highly available AWS cloud infrastructure that powers its Identity Solutions program. The role combines technical leadership, architecture design, and hands‑on implementation to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a geo‑diverse team, mentor junior engineers and act as a subject‑matter expert.
• Plan, design, build and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Argo CD, Terraform, CloudFormation and Resource Manager.
• Develop automation, monitoring and security processes to improve service availability and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enable fast, automated, and reliable service deployments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading SRE or DevOps initiatives in a large, distributed environment.
• Strong background in designing and operating cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on security and reliability.
