Logistics Officer (1-year temporary)

About the role

BASF is seeking a Logistics Officer for a one‑year fixed‑term contract in Budapest. The role supports end‑to‑end stock and warehouse operations, ensuring inventory remains lean, available and cost‑efficient while contributing to the company's sustainable supply chain goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own stock and warehouse processes, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Plan and coordinate shipments from order entry to delivery, selecting transport modes and forwarders.
• Drive freight and warehouse cost optimisation through consolidation and cost control.
• Collaborate with warehouse and logistics partners to ensure compliance with BASF standards, EHS and regulations.
• Handle logistics documentation, invoicing, additional costs, claims and NCM topics.
• Support audits, physical stock counts, reporting and SAP master‑data accuracy.
• Prepare EPR and environmental product fee reports and perform EKAER registrations.

Required profile

• University or college degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in logistics or customer support.
• Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, can‑do attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Hungarian is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office proficiency.
• Solid experience with SAP.
