Mechanical Lead Designer – Power Electronics

About the role

Join Bosch's Power Electronics Engineering team in Budapest as a Mechanical Lead Designer. You will drive the mechanical development of inverters, power modules, converters and battery management systems, guiding a talented group of engineers from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Define, coordinate and harmonise platform solutions and architectures for power‑electronics products.
• Lead acquisition and customer‑project design teams, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial goals.
• Coordinate serial product design changes driven by ROI or quality requirements.
• Realise product variants, cost reductions and industrialisation activities.
• Resolve supplier quality issues and customer claims, leading root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Review technical documentation, perform tolerance, static and thermal calculations.
• Define simulation plans and collaborate with simulation, reliability and hardware experts.
• Act as the main contact for internal partners (project, purchasing, production, simulation, reliability, hardware) and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers).

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in mechanical design of power‑electronics hardware.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into robust design concepts.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams (systems, reliability, simulation, HW).
• Experience managing supplier quality and customer claim processes.
• Senior‑level expertise with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
