Senior Indirect Tax Specialist

About the role

Join KPMG Global Services Hungary in Budapest as a Senior Indirect Tax Specialist, supporting multinational Fortune-500 clients with VAT compliance across more than 40 countries. You will work within a multicultural team, mentoring junior colleagues while interacting with tax authorities and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate VAT returns and related tax reports prepared by junior team members.
• Mentor a group of 3-5 colleagues, providing guidance on technical and procedural matters.
• Maintain contact with foreign tax authorities and support client queries.
• Act as the internal point of contact for VAT-related questions from other departments.
• Participate in process-improvement, digitisation and automation projects.

Required profile

• Vocational degree or equivalent background.
• 2-3 years of hands-on VAT compliance experience.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Precision, reliability, client-oriented mindset and proactive attitude.

Required skills

• VAT compliance and preparation of VAT returns.
• Advanced Excel.
• General computer proficiency.
