Senior Manager – Federal Tax Compliance

About the role

Diageo is looking for an experienced tax professional to lead its U.S. federal corporate income tax compliance function from Budapest. The role will ensure accurate and timely filing of federal tax returns, support tax accounting and planning, and collaborate with finance, legal and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of U.S. federal corporate income tax returns (Form 1120, schedules, elections, disclosures).
• Manage the annual federal tax compliance calendar, including filings, payments, extensions and documentation.
• Oversee federal taxable income calculations, book‑to‑tax adjustments and tax attribute tracking.
• Drive the ASC 740 income tax provision process and assess uncertain tax positions.
• Support tax planning initiatives, business transaction analysis and IRS examinations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and data‑analytics enhancements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external advisors and the external auditor on tax matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, taxation or related field; advanced tax degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in U.S. federal corporate income taxation, preferably in large or multinational corporations.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and consolidated corporate tax returns.
• Proven project‑management and stakeholder‑communication skills.
