System Engineer – Vehicle Energy Management

About the role

As a System Engineer for Vehicle Energy Management you will help shape the next generation of battery‑electric and fuel‑cell vehicles. Working with international engineering teams you will create and refine simulation models that drive improvements in energy efficiency and driving range.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate innovative energy‑management concepts for zero‑emission vehicles.
• Build and maintain modular 0D/1D vehicle simulation models covering power‑train, battery, electric drive, HVAC and cooling circuits.
• Integrate vehicle‑level models with component and subsystem models from other Bosch business units.
• Continuously improve simulation, evaluation and optimisation toolchains for higher efficiency and accuracy.
• Support technology assessments, optimisation studies and customer projects by analysing and presenting simulation results.
• Derive component requirements and loads from vehicle‑level use cases to aid product development and project acquisition.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of automotive power‑train and thermal‑management systems for BEV and FCEV vehicles.
• Several years of experience with 0D/1D simulation tools, preferably in automotive power‑train or thermal‑management simulation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or comparable simulation environments.
• Experience with Design for Reliability (DfR) methodologies, including component load and lifetime analysis.
• Fluent English communication skills and willingness to travel occasionally to Germany.
