Application Software Developer – Automotive ECU Systems

About the role

We are looking for an Application Software Developer to join Bosch’s PS‑TC team in Budapest. You will contribute to the development of advanced automotive electronic control units (ECUs) by creating model‑based application software that links system requirements, sensors, actuators and diagnostics into reliable vehicle functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop model‑based application software for automotive ECU functions.
• Translate system requirements into robust software designs and implementations.
• Handle ECU‑level topics such as signal flows, diagnostics, communication interfaces, configuration data and integration with sensors and actuators.
• Analyse software and system behaviour, support debugging, verification and issue resolution.
• Collaborate closely with system engineers, software architects, platform developers, testers and international development partners.
• Participate in the evolution from application‑level coding towards system‑level expertise.

Required profile

• University degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, informatics or a comparable field.
• Experience in model‑based software development, preferably in an automotive context.
• Good understanding of ECU software architecture, embedded systems, interfaces, diagnostics and communication.
• Structured, analytical and quality‑oriented working style with the ability to work independently.
• Strong English language skills and ability to work in international, cross‑functional teams.
