Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer at Diligent, you will design, build and evolve secure, scalable SaaS applications. You will own technical delivery across projects, shape backend architecture and contribute to platform modernization while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Ruby on Rails features and services following agile practices.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery for projects, including solution design, implementation planning and production rollout.
• Develop and evolve RESTful APIs and web applications with focus on scalability, maintainability and performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, prototype solutions and help separate components into products.
• Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, Security and other engineering teams to ensure smooth production releases.
• Champion code quality through reviews, automated testing, documentation and responsible use of AI‑assisted tools.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge to raise technical execution standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building web applications and services.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Ruby on Rails and production‑grade backend or full‑stack development.
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and secure, cloud‑native services.
• Solid understanding of microservices or service‑oriented architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git/GitHub workflows, SQL data modeling and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor peers.
