Software Engineer, Test Infrastructure & Reliability

About the role

In this role you will help build and ship PreForm, owning its quality and performance signals by making quality automated, measurable, and enforced at the PR gate. You will join a hands‑on team of builders, engineers, and innovators reinventing how the world makes physical things.

Key responsibilities

• Performance regression detection: measure KPIs (startup, upload, print generation, crash rate) in CI with alerts on regressions.
• System‑test re‑architecture: rebuild the system‑test layer to drive end‑to‑end scenarios headlessly through the PreForm Server API.
• Customer‑file corpus testing: run large batches of real customer models through slicing and support generation, diffing results against baselines.
• Crash intelligence: own Sentry triage, trending, root‑cause attribution, and build crash‑reproduction harnesses.
• Test infrastructure stewardship: manage regression baselines, CI flake handling, test runtimes, and golden‑file management as a product.

Required profile

• Proficiency in C++ for integration and system testing of PreForm internals.
• Python experience for building tooling, pipelines, and test harnesses.
• Deep knowledge of CI and automation tools such as Jenkins, test parallelisation, and baseline testing strategies.
• Strong observability instincts using Sentry, Amplitude, and performance dashboards.
• Desktop application testing experience (GUI automation on Windows/macOS) using Squish or Qt Test‑based harnesses.
• Mid‑to‑senior individual contributor able to define test strategy independently while remaining hands‑on.
