Vice President of Software Engineering

About the role

Diligent seeks a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead its global engineering organization. This strategic role owns business outcomes, partners with Product Management to shape vision and roadmap, and is accountable for delivery, reliability, security, and overall performance.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical and organizational strategy for multiple product teams and ensure production‑grade systems meet security, privacy, and compliance standards.
• Embed AI‑native practices across the software development lifecycle and champion reusable AI platforms and tooling.
• Hire, coach, and develop senior engineering leaders, designing the organization for scale across regions while managing budget and workforce planning.
• Represent engineering in executive forums, collaborate with UX, Security, Data, and Customer teams, and act as the public face of Diligent’s engineering brand.
• Drive execution across concurrent initiatives with clear prioritization and measurable business impact.

Required profile

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading large, global engineering organizations through Directors and managers.
• Proven track record of owning business outcomes for engineering—delivery, reliability, security, and performance.
• Deep fluency in modern software engineering: cloud‑native architecture, platform engineering, microservices, API‑first design, DevOps, data platforms, and AI/ML.
• Experience shaping product vision with Product Management and influencing senior leadership across functions.
• Ability to build inclusive, high‑performing cultures and mentor senior engineering talent.
