Digital Reporting Controller (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

Sony Europe is looking for a Digital Reporting Controller to support compliant and efficient digital reporting across its branches, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with evolving European regulatory requirements. The role works closely with internal partners, external service providers and tax authorities, supports country implementations and helps standardise and automate digital reporting across the region. It is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave, based in Budapest (candidates also based in Hoofddorp, Netherlands or Athens, Greece, are welcome).

Key responsibilities

• Handle and support digital reporting, e-invoicing and e-reporting across multiple European countries.
• Monitor regulatory developments and reporting requirements to stay compliant with local and EU legislation.
• Support new-country implementations, including requirements analysis, data mapping, testing and UAT.
• Validate, reconcile and analyse reporting data, and coordinate with Finance, Tax and IS teams and external providers.
• Ensure timely submissions to tax authorities and resolve data discrepancies and reporting exceptions.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation and standardisation, and maintain documentation, controls and training materials.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in transactional finance, accounting, VAT, indirect tax or a related finance function.
• Strong experience with reconciliations, data validation and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including large datasets, pivot tables and reporting analysis.
• Practical SAP experience and understanding of finance data structures, tax codes and data mapping.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines; experience in a multinational environment is preferred.

Nice to have

• Digital reporting, e-invoicing, e-reporting, SAF-T, VAT or tax technology experience.
• Power BI, Excel macros, RPA or automation tools.
• System implementation support and Peppol or XML reporting knowledge.
