Ecommerce Engineer – Shopify Backend (B2B)

About the role

Formlabs is looking for an Ecommerce Engineer to own the back‑end of its Shopify B2B commerce platform. You will design, build and scale custom Shopify apps, functions and APIs that power seamless B2B experiences and integrate with the wider digital ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and customize the back‑end Shopify B2B platform, including apps, functions, extensions and APIs.
• Design complex B2B capabilities beyond standard Shopify features and integrate them with Salesforce, ERP, data‑warehouse and other systems.
• Collaborate with headless front‑end teams to provide data and API endpoints for fast, SEO‑optimized user experiences.
• Drive enterprise integrations using APIs, middleware and iPaaS solutions.
• Contribute to digital roadmap initiatives such as marketing automation, AI‑driven sales tools and vendor solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of full‑stack engineering experience building eCommerce or digital platforms for B2B.
• Proven expertise with Shopify B2B, Shopify Apps, Functions, Extensions and APIs in a headless context.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration with Salesforce, ERP and data‑warehouse technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent practical experience.

• Salesforce ecosystem – Apex, Lightning, Flow, validation rules, automations, APIs.
• SQL query writing and data‑warehouse concepts (e.g., BigQuery).
• Version control and CI/CD tools – GitHub, Gearset.
• Container orchestration – Kubernetes.
• API design and integration, iPaaS middleware (AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions).
