Intelligence Intermediate Analyst (OSINT, Cyber Intelligence)

About the role

Citi's Intelligence team in Budapest is looking for an intermediate-level analyst to help protect one of the world's largest financial institutions from evolving cyber threats. The role focuses on cyber intelligence, especially OSINT, and suits someone who wants to work with cutting-edge tools to detect and mitigate real risks to Citi's brand, data and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze cyber threat alerts and intelligence reports to identify and assess risks to Citi
• Support internal investigations and security matters with comprehensive intelligence analyses
• Monitor cyber threat actors and trends (e.g. APTs, fraud, hacktivism, malware)
• Investigate and report on security incidents, breaches and data threats
• Create and use custom tools to support threat analysis and intelligence collection
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including law enforcement and industry peers
• Prepare briefings and written intelligence products for leadership
• Research new threat sources, technologies and analytical methods
• Support automation and innovation in intelligence workflows and tooling

Required profile

• 3+ years of relevant experience in OSINT, cyber intelligence or a related field
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience); advanced degrees are welcome, preferably in a STEM major, computer science or cyber technology
• Clear, concise communication in English
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Willingness to earn industry certifications within 12 months if not already held

Required skills

• Working knowledge of APTs, third-party risks, cybercrime, hacktivism, DDoS attacks, fraud, malware and mobile threats
• Preferred: scripting or programming (e.g. Python, Java, Beanshell, Regex)
• Preferred: knowledge of tools such as Palantir, Maltego or i2 Analyst's Notebook
• Comfortable working with OSINT, social media, dark web and other data sources
