Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP) - Hungary

About the role

GE Aerospace is offering a 2-year Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP) in Hungary, focused on developing and accelerating technical expertise across the supply chain. Participants work in manufacturing engineering assignments, combining on-the-job training and classroom education to build a foundation of technical and leadership skills. The program consists of two 12-month assignments, includes mentorship and structured learning with manufacturing experts, and prepares participants for promotion opportunities within GE Aerospace.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily hands-on support to shop floor personnel to help solve problems and improve production or development lab processes
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing skills and interpret blueprints to support component manufacturing
• Use design and analytical software to support and improve manufacturing processes
• Develop manufacturing planning, processes and work instructions
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, throughput and reduce manufacturing costs
• Collect and analyze manufacturing data to drive short- and long-term actions
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify waste and support decision-making
• Manage project plans for manufacturing changes and collaborate with functions to close projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, or an associate degree in Engineering or Technology with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience
• Hands-on approach in a manufacturing environment, comfortable in a fast-paced shop floor setting around machine tools and equipment
• Preferred: prior internship or co-op experience, and demonstrated commitment to community and/or university involvement
