Senior Consultant - Cost/Value Management or Benchmarking

About the role

POLARIXPARTNER, an international management consultancy focused on the manufacturing industry and a subsidiary of Roland Berger, is looking for Senior Consultants with professional consulting experience in cost engineering and benchmarking to join its Budapest office. As part of a team that is currently forming, you will support and lead client projects on site in national and international settings, from strategic concept development through to implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and optimize product and process costs across the full product development lifecycle
• Interpret and contribute to product development plans and translate technical requirements into cost engineering strategies
• Work with integrated, cross-functional teams using your engineering and design experience
• Collaborate with procurement functions and support cost-based negotiation strategies
• Analyze and optimize product engineering solutions, focusing on their integration and interdependencies
• Apply cost engineering tools and methods to identify and implement cost improvement opportunities
• Use knowledge of manufacturing processes to understand the cost implications of components and systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering (technical focus); an MBA is a plus
• 4-7 years of experience in consulting or industry, ideally in development, production or procurement roles
• Experience in automotive, off-highway, industrial goods, aerospace or electronics is highly valued
• Fluency in English and a high degree of mobility, with frequent travel
• Passion for cost optimization projects and measurable results
