Backup Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backup Engineer to join our network operations team in Papa, Hungary. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of our server, workstation, printer and network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on backup systems and Cisco‑based environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor servers, workstations, printers, switches, routers and backup systems for errors.
• Apply Microsoft, Cisco, Micro Focus and antimalware patches to keep all components up‑to‑date.
• Plan, test and implement configuration changes based on NAM CISOO requests.
• Maintain and update system documentation, diagrams and maintenance reports.
• Provide recommendations for technology upgrades, optimisation and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on servers, network devices and backup solutions, including system recovery from backups.
• Conduct ad‑hoc testing of systems as required by NAM CISOO and produce troubleshooting reports.

Required profile

• Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
• Deep knowledge of Cisco services, licensing methodology and support services.
• Proven ability to design and scale small networks with high availability, redundancy and performance.
• Extensive experience with LAN products such as Cisco switches, modules and interfaces.
• Strong understanding of configuring and security‑hardening Cisco devices and LAN environments.
