Europe Direct Procurement Specialist

About the role

Syngenta Seeds Field Crops is looking for a Europe Direct Procurement Specialist in Budapest. The role covers end-to-end sourcing across Direct Procurement categories, translating global category strategies into regional sourcing actions and managing regional supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end sourcing across Direct Procurement categories, including growers and parent production, logistics, production services, production inputs, packaging and discards.
• Translate global category strategies into regional sourcing actions aligned with approved supplier panels, commercial frameworks and procurement governance.
• Manage regional supplier relationships, monitor performance against KPIs, service levels and quality standards, and escalate risks or issues.
• Lead sourcing processes including market intelligence, demand and supplier management, negotiations, supplier selection and contract implementation.
• Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation in SAP/S4 and related systems, supporting compliance and audit readiness.
• Track regional spend, savings, PPV, supplier performance, PO compliance and contract-renewal pipelines, and identify value opportunities.
• Partner with Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Agronomy and global procurement teams, and share regional market intelligence and supplier insights with global strategy initiatives.

Required profile

• 4-6 years' experience in procurement, sourcing operations or supply chain; agribusiness, agricultural inputs or production services experience is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience managing suppliers and delivering sourcing across multiple spend categories.
• Experience in a regional, international or matrix environment and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to deliver against procurement KPIs on cost, compliance, service and supplier performance.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with a structured, detail-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP/S4 or a comparable procurement ERP, including purchase orders, supplier master data and GR/IR processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
