Expert Cost Engineer

About the role

As an Expert Cost Engineer at Bosch, you will influence the development of competitive, sustainable automotive products by providing data‑driven cost and carbon‑footprint insights to engineering, purchasing and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed cost analyses of components, tooling and manufacturing processes across various technologies and material groups.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities through design improvements, material selection and manufacturing optimisation.
• Support Design‑to‑Cost (D2C) activities with value‑based engineering recommendations.
• Manage Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations and propose sustainability improvements.
• Provide technical cost breakdowns for sourcing activities and supplier negotiations.
• Conduct should‑cost analyses, competitor benchmarking and sales price evaluations.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
• Several years of experience in Cost Engineering, Product Cost Management or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, production processes and material cost structures.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills in an international environment.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
