Finite-Element Simulation Engineer of Sensors for Automotive and Consumer Electronics

About the role

As a Finite-Element Simulation Engineer you will support Bosch's Mobility Electronics division by modelling and analysing cutting‑edge micro‑mechanical sensors used in automotive safety, navigation and consumer devices. You will work in a dynamic, international environment, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Finite‑Element Analysis (FEA) of MEMS sensors focusing on thermomechanical behavior.
• Develop and automate simulation workflows, including model pre‑development and material characterization.
• Plan, coordinate and evaluate simulation and measurement campaigns.
• Validate simulation results against experimental data or large‑scale data sources.
• Contribute to building a reliable material database for new sensor package designs.
• Analyse key performance parameters and propose design improvements based on simulation insights.
• Document and present findings to internal teams, partners and customers.
• Participate in international, multi‑domain project teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong background in structural mechanics and numerical simulations.
• Experience with commercial FEA tools for structural and thermomechanical problems, preferably ANSYS Mechanical.
• Proficiency in data analysis and scripting using MATLAB, Python or similar.
• Experience in experimental validation of simulation data is a plus.
• Familiarity with MEMS or semiconductor packaging is advantageous.
