Health Insurance Subject Matter Expert (Fully Remote)

About the role

CoverGo is seeking a highly experienced Health Insurance Subject Matter Expert to help transform the insurance industry through technology. This remote, full‑time position works closely with product and engineering teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and real‑world health insurance features.

Key responsibilities

• Support product development by translating end‑to‑end health insurance processes into clear requirements and functional documentation.
• Design automation, decision engines and workflow logic to maximize straight‑through processing and minimize manual intervention.
• Embed regulatory and risk requirements into product logic and conduct market research to identify feature gaps.
• Act as a bridge between product, engineering and business teams, contributing to roadmap discussions and supporting GTM, sales and pre‑sales efforts.

Required profile

• 12+ years of insurance industry experience with at least 5 years focused on health insurance lifecycle.
• Hands‑on experience across multiple health insurance functions such as underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing or renewals.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in fast‑paced environments and communicate complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, systems‑thinking mindset with a passion for translating domain knowledge into product features.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of health insurance underwriting, policy administration, claims, renewals and billing processes.
• Experience defining business rules, decision engines and workflow automation.
• Ability to conduct user acceptance testing and validate product functionality.
