IT Department Lead (Remote, Worldwide)

About the role

Nethermind is seeking an experienced IT leader to own and evolve its internal technology estate. You will be responsible for the full Internal IT Department, covering Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Security, Identity & Access Management, and FinOps, while collaborating closely with client‑facing blockchain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Security, IAM and FinOps teams.
• Define and execute company‑wide infrastructure strategy and roadmap with the CIO.
• Manage staffing, career development, performance reviews, and raise technical standards.
• Maintain clear communication with C‑level executives and group leads to break down DevOps silos.
• Serve as primary contact for all internal IT matters and coordinate resource allocation with the CIO.
• Integrate AI technologies into daily engineering and non‑engineering workflows.
• Represent the department to external clients when required.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements and optimisations.
• Support hiring efforts and conduct monthly performance reviews using Rippling.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in internal IT or platform engineering.
• Strong people‑management skills, including staffing, coaching and performance evaluation.
• Excellent cross‑functional communication with executives and technical teams.
• Ability to drive strategy, break down silos and influence organisational change.
