Junior Department Manager - Distribution Centre

About the role

JYSK is looking for a Junior Department Manager for its highly automated distribution centre in Ecser, which supplies more than 400 stores and online customers in Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Austria. The role is a supportive one for the team, with a high level of freedom and responsibility, and offers a structured introduction programme and personal development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support daily operations, collaborating daily with shift leaders and supporting their work
• Track daily results and KPIs, identify deviations, and monitor staffing levels and capacity, coordinating staff reassignments as needed
• Take part in daily operational meetings and later lead some independently
• Work with other departments and support functions, and monitor safety and compliance with defined workflows
• Identify and manage minor improvements and projects independently
• Ensure clear communication within the team and with stakeholders, and cascade information throughout the organisation
• Encourage employees to speak up and live the JYSK values
• Gradually take over specific department manager tasks

Required profile

• Understanding of KPIs and ability to link actions to goals
• Easily grasps complex warehouse and logistics processes and acquires new knowledge quickly
• Able to develop staff and secure best practice in the department
• Quick analysis, assertive communication and the ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Very good written and spoken English and Hungarian
• Previous leadership or shift supervisor experience is a plus

• Good computer literacy (MS Office, WMS, ERP)
• Teamwork and planning skills
