Lead Engineer – eAxle Thermal System

About the role

As a Lead Engineer – eAxle Thermal System at Bosch Group in Budapest, you will act as the thermal expert for next‑generation electric axle systems, ensuring optimal thermal performance, efficiency and cost competitiveness across platform and customer projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement thermal system concepts for eAxle platforms in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Perform system‑level thermal simulations and predict the behaviour of eAxle components.
• Plan, execute and analyse thermal measurements, validating simulation models.
• Maintain and improve thermal simulation models, ensuring correlation with test data.
• Serve as the main interface for thermal topics between electric machine, gearbox and power electronics domains.
• Own thermal system deliverables, including requirement analysis, technical presentations and customer communication.
• Provide technical guidance on thermal management and support system‑level decision making.
• Support software‑related thermal management functions, control strategies and calibration concepts.
• Contribute to the evolution of thermal engineering methodologies, tools and processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Thermodynamics or a related field.
• Strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer and thermal system behaviour at component and system level.
• Solid understanding of electric powertrain systems and interaction of key eMobility components.
• Experience with thermal management and cooling concepts in electrified powertrain applications.
