Legal Counsel – 12‑Month Maternity Cover

About the role

Join SEON’s global legal team as a Legal Counsel on a 12‑month maternity cover, based in Budapest. You will work closely with Revenue, People, Compliance, Finance and Product teams, providing legal support across European operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements in line with business and legal requirements.
• Provide HR legal support on employment agreements, policies and other matters under Hungarian law.
• Advise business units on legal issues, delivering clear and practical guidance.
• Support internal system and process optimisation to increase legal efficiency and scalability.
• Supervise outside counsel and legal vendors, ensuring quality, cost‑effectiveness and alignment with company needs.
• Enhance internal customer support satisfaction by building strong stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Degree in law from an accredited Hungarian university.
• Prior legal experience (SaaS technology or law firm) or strong academic performance with relevant internships.
• Fluent in English at a professional level.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic company environment and take ownership of tasks.
• Commitment to delivering efficient, high‑quality service to internal customers.
• Interest in leveraging AI capabilities in legal work.
