Material Planner

About the role

HARMAN is looking for a Material Planner in Szekesfehervar (Fejer county) who plays a key role in securing the raw materials needed for series production, handling material shortages and assessing the logistical impact of customer and production demand changes. The role works closely with production planning, central procurement, production, warehouse, transport and quality teams to ensure reliable supply while minimising obsolete and excess stock.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse material availability, identify critical shortages and escalate them
• Track shortage items daily over the short and medium term and communicate regularly with suppliers
• Prepare analysis reports and follow up actions when there is shortage or obsolete stock risk
• Work actively with warehouse teams and take part in internal and customer meetings on critical materials, representing operational management
• Coordinate the logistics side of hardware and software changes and support decisions on timing, considering shortage and obsolete risks
• When obsolete stock builds up, prepare analyses, define actions and coordinate them with other departments

Required profile

• Degree in logistics, economics, supply chain or engineering, or relevant experience in a similar role
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics or supply chain environments
• Good analytical skills and systems thinking
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach and good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Fluent spoken and written Hungarian and English

Required skills

• Good command of Excel, including reporting and analysis
• Ability to interpret complex data and produce decision-support information
• Advantage: knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems, automotive or electronics manufacturing experience, supplier negotiation experience
