Network Engineer – Backup Specialist

About the role

The position is focused on ensuring the reliability and security of our IT infrastructure through comprehensive backup, restoration, and disaster‑recovery planning. You will work on a range of hardware and software components, supporting servers, workstations, network devices and backup solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot servers, workstations, printers, switches, routers and backup systems for errors.
• Apply Microsoft, Cisco, Micro Focus and antimalware patches to keep all components up‑to‑date.
• Plan, implement and manage enterprise backup strategies, restoration procedures and disaster‑recovery scenarios.
• Execute configuration changes requested by NAM CISOO, including testing, implementation and documentation updates.
• Maintain system documentation, diagrams and produce regular maintenance and troubleshooting reports.
• Provide recommendations for technology improvements and system optimisation.

Required profile

• Possession of Data Protector Software certification or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Ability to design and execute backup, restoration and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Security clearance at NATO Secret level.
