Optics Trainee – Optical Test & Development Internship

About the role

Join Bosch's optical testing team in Budapest as an Optics Trainee. You will support the development and validation of optical parameters for automotive driver‑assistance and interior sensing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support optical test specifications for AI‑based driver assistance, interior sensing, and surround‑view cameras.
• Develop test equipment and concepts to measure optical parameters according to quality standards.
• Continuously improve existing test methods, requirements, and processes (design for testability).
• Execute image‑quality test cases, document results, and ensure traceability.
• Collaborate with international development partners, Bosch engineering disciplines, and production teams (simultaneous engineering).

Required profile

• Active or passive student (under 25) enrolled full‑time in a BSc program.
• Study field: Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or a comparable discipline (optical specialization preferred).
• Good command of English and/or German.
• Analytical mindset with ability to work both independently and in global teams.

Required skills

• Matlab programming.
• Python programming.
• Fundamental understanding of optics.
