Programme Management Officer

About the role
The Programme Management Officer will support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the United Nations Countering Terrorist Travel (CT Travel) Programme. Based in Budapest, the role works within the Countering Terrorist Travel Section of the UN Office of Counter‑Terrorism, reporting to the Senior Programme Management Officer.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, execution and oversight of CT Travel activities across partner organisations.
- Collect, analyse and report on programme data, including API and PNR information, to assess progress against UN resolutions.
- Coordinate with UNODC, ICAO, INTERPOL, IOM and other stakeholders to ensure coherent implementation of technical assistance.
- Prepare briefing notes, status reports and evaluation documents for senior management and member states.
- Support capacity‑building initiatives for member states to detect and counter terrorist travel.
Required profile
- University degree in international relations, security studies, public policy or a related field.
- Relevant experience in programme management within an international or UN environment.
- Knowledge of counter‑terrorism travel issues and UN resolutions on API/PNR data.
- Strong analytical, reporting and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English; additional UN languages are an asset.
