Reliability Engineer – Soldering Technology (Mobility Electronics)

About the role

Join Bosch Mobility Electronics in Budapest as a Reliability Engineer focused on soldering technology. You will work on the development of assembly and interconnection technologies (AIT) for PCB‑based electronic control units, ensuring high reliability for a wide range of automotive applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AIT solutions for printed circuit board (PCB) electronic control units.
• Define and validate solder joint load capability.
• Characterize materials and model their lifetime within electronic control units.
• Design, set up, and evaluate experiments; analyse results using big‑data methods.
• Prepare technical reports in English and present findings to project teams.
• Collaborate in cross‑functional, international engineering teams.
• Coordinate reliability activities such as simulations, tests and analyses.
• Agree project targets with customers and provide regular status updates.
• Apply project management tools (quality, change, risk management) to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• MSc in material sciences, mechanical engineering, simulation or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with a structured and precise working style.
• Flexibility to adapt to new environments and willingness to learn continuously.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Finite Element Method (FEM) expertise.
• Experience with SMT and THT soldering processes.
• Knowledge of big‑data analysis techniques.
• Model‑based engineering experience.
• Statistical methods for reliability assessment.
