Technology Development Engineer – Surface Technologies

About the role

As a Technology Development Engineer in Surface Technologies, you will work within Bosch's Mobility Electronics division to create and industrialise advanced surface treatment processes that support sustainable e‑mobility solutions. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams across development, manufacturing and suppliers to bring robust, standardised technologies to market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise surface treatment methods such as laser cleaning, laser finishing, plasma treatment, laser deflash and wet chemical cleaning.
• Manage quality, cost and delivery (QCD) targets for assigned projects.
• Design, set up and evaluate experiments, collecting and analysing data.
• Apply statistical analysis, data mining and AI‑supported techniques to characterise surface processes.
• Work closely with assembly and interconnection technology teams, both locally and internationally.
• Participate in technical communications with suppliers and support problem‑solving for series production.
• Document and present experimental results, conclusions and recommendations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Detail‑oriented, structured working style and self‑motivated team player.
