Director of Sales - Pre-Opening Luxury Hotel

About the role

SO/ Budapest, a new luxury hotel opening in 2027 in a prime location overlooking the Chain Bridge and the Danube, is searching for an experienced Director of Sales. The hotel has 349 rooms and suites, dining and entertainment venues, and MICE facilities for business and leisure guests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic commercial plans with the Director Revenue and Director of Brand Marketing to grow revenue across all segments, monitoring results and adjusting strategy.
• Recruit, induct and develop the sales team, leading from the front.
• Work closely with Ennismore regional and brand leads for Sales, Revenue and Brand, and with the Accor Global Sales Team.
• Take ownership of pre-opening sales strategies and the sales critical path.
• Collaborate with Hotel Operations, Brand, Revenue, Digital, Graphics and PR to share insights and drive top-line revenue.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts, including rate negotiations, and maximise market share.

Required profile

• Strong sales experience, preferably in a luxury or lifestyle environment, with local and/or international background.
• Previous pre-opening experience.
• Balanced approach: methodical and results-driven, yet flexible and creative with multiple priorities.
• Comfortable with both strategy and day-to-day detail, and an excellent relationship builder.
