Payroll Implementation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Payroll Implementation Specialist to guide clients through the end‑to‑end payroll set‑up process, from onboarding to go‑live. The role is fully remote and supports flatrock’s BPO payroll services across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding, attend kick‑off meetings and act as the primary contact for implementation queries.
• Gather payroll and business requirements, configure payroll calendars, earnings, deductions and related settings.
• Assist clients with data migration, validate imported employee data and resolve issues before go‑live.
• Support testing phases, parallel runs and troubleshoot any issues alongside internal teams.
• Maintain project plans, track actions, risks and escalations, and ensure documentation is signed off.
• Continuously improve implementation guides and stay updated on payroll legislation and product enhancements.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in payroll, payroll implementation or payroll operations.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, legislation and HRIS systems.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with senior support.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Experience with payroll or HRIS platforms.
• Advanced Excel and data‑validation capabilities.
• Knowledge of APIs, integrations and data imports.
