Senior UX Researcher (German-speaking)

About the role

TOPdesk, an international software company specializing in service management with 700 employees in 8 countries, is hiring a Senior UX Researcher for its Budapest office. You will work across several product areas, partnering with UX designers, product managers and engineers in the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary so that user insight drives strategic and discovery decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the research direction for one or more product domains, turning knowledge gaps into research questions and study plans
• Independently design and run complex qualitative and quantitative studies to help product teams understand users' needs and pain points
• Synthesize insights across studies to identify broader patterns and product opportunities
• Turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations and support teams and leadership with evidence-based decisions
• Work with product teams and management on research implications and trade-offs, and give feedback to junior researchers and colleagues
• Improve research practices, standards and ResearchOps activities
• Evaluate and apply new research methods and AI-supported techniques responsibly
• Communicate findings regularly with stakeholders and build organizational research maturity

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional UX research experience (mid/senior level)
• Bachelor's, master's or PhD in HCI, psychology, human factors, cognitive science, social sciences, anthropology, design or a related field; equivalent practical experience accepted
• Experience planning and leading complex end-to-end studies with multiple stakeholders or user groups
• Experience mentoring researchers or improving shared research practices
• Fluent German (C1 or higher) and fluent English (C1); Dutch is a nice-to-have
