Software Engineer in Test – Bluetooth Low Energy QA

About the role

Silicon Labs is looking for a Software Engineer in Test to join its Budapest QA team. The role focuses on planning, developing, debugging and automating test scripts to improve the quality of the SiSDK and Firmware products, which serve IoT customers from smart homes to smart cities. You will ensure comprehensive test coverage for Bluetooth Low Energy radio protocol features and validate embedded products with a Python-based automated test framework.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional and non-functional automated tests for Silicon Labs' embedded wireless products.
• Design and implement pytest-based tests for embedded wireless solutions.
• Automate and monitor test execution as part of continuous integration.
• Use generative AI tools such as Cursor to improve coding efficiency.
• Work with developers, product managers and other stakeholders to share test results, progress and defects.
• Collaborate with application engineers to find use cases needing automated test coverage.
• Identify, report and investigate defects found during testing.
• Maintain, manage and improve automated test scripts.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a software developer in test or software QA engineer.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Plus: interest in IoT wireless protocols, embedded systems and embedded C/C++ development, and an ISTQB certificate.
