Tax Reporting and Compliance Senior Analyst

About the role

This role sits in the Direct Tax Reporting and Compliance team, covering Rest of the World entities, and is critical for delivering the group's external tax reporting requirements, including SOX obligations. It ensures that European, African and APAC direct tax processes (corporate income tax, suffered withholding tax and other supplementary returns) are done accurately, efficiently and on time, using automation and outsourcing where applicable, while following internal controls and legislative requirements. The contract is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Timely and accurate production of group prior year tax adjustments and P09 reporting for non-complex RoW entities in line with IFRS and group reporting instructions, without material misstatements or auditor findings.
• Monitor changes in the external reporting and taxation environment, assess their impact on Diageo, understand the Group auditors' position and reach alignment on interpretations.
• Proactively interpret business changes and developments, especially for allocated reporting entities, and manage their tax reporting implications.
• Carry out compliance activities such as corporate income tax returns, GL reconciliation and support of the local tax manager under the global agreement.
• Manage relationships with GBO FC teams, compliance teams and local tax teams, and monitor both external and internal reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma in finance or accounting and 2-5 years of finance experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills with an excellent understanding of IFRS.
• Good communication and influencing skills for working with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure, good judgement and self-motivated, well organised approach.
