Backend Engineer

About the role

Boam AI is looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and run core services that power data‑driven intelligence for millions of SMBs and enterprises. You will work on Scala and Python infrastructure, designing resilient APIs and data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build resilient backend services and APIs.
• Partner with senior engineers on system architecture for reliability and scale.
• Develop end‑to‑end data pipelines from ingestion to enrichment to delivery.
• Embed reliability and test coverage directly into code.
• Improve performance, scalability, and observability across the stack.
• Collaborate with data/ML teams to productize AI‑powered agents.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Comfort with greenfield work and scaling existing systems.
• Bias toward shipping, measuring, and iterating rather than over‑architecting.
• Motivation by rapid iteration and tangible customer impact.
