FinCrime Operations Team Lead – AML Investigations

About the role

Wise is seeking an AML Investigations Team Lead for its Budapest office. You will lead a team of investigators, ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, and help identify suspicious payment patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team of AML investigators, fostering a strong community and inclusive environment.
• Measure and improve team KPIs, ensuring performance metrics and regulatory standards are met.
• Initiate operational process changes, collaborate with product and development teams, and identify automation opportunities.
• Support professional growth through personal development plans and recognize team contributions.

Required profile

• Located in Hungary and legally authorised to work there.
• 2+ years of experience leading and developing teams in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of AML/FinCrime fields and ability to analyse and improve team metrics.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English communication.
• In‑depth knowledge of AML and financial crime investigations.
