Global Audit and Risk Senior Manager

About the role

Diageo is looking for a Global Audit and Risk Senior Manager based in Budapest on a permanent basis. The role provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of risk management and control procedures across the business, highlights risk and opportunity areas, and supports Global Audit in achieving its strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with business partners during fieldwork and own business partnering relationships with business leaders and mid-management outside of audits.
• Deliver high-quality, holistic risk management and internal audit assurance across a broad range of functions and geographies.
• Provide regular guidance to functional and business unit management on governance, risk and compliance, and advise leaders proactively on anticipating and responding to risks.
• Use root cause and data-driven analysis to generate insights and efficiency opportunities, and partner with the business on solutions for risks and opportunities.
• Influence Diageo leadership to take action when gaps are found in the management of risk, and articulate effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Support governance, risk and compliance by helping leaders understand the Diageo Purpose, particularly the importance of governance and compliance.
• Coach and support less experienced team members, and grow both functional and leadership capability.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in Big Four and/or internal audit in a multinational (ideally multicultural and multilingual) corporate environment.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
• Proven success building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders, especially senior management.
• People management skills and the ability to influence and direct where appropriate.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, written and verbal.
• A qualified accountant, MBA or other professional qualification and equivalent experience is prioritised.

Required skills

• Risk-based auditing, including reviewing core financials and business data to identify risks and insights.
• Root cause analysis and insights generation.
• Extensive experience using data analysis tools and AI tools.
