Platform Engineer - Commercial Services Tools

About the role

Veeva Systems, a leader in life‑sciences cloud software, is building next‑generation commercial services tools. As a Services Platform Engineer you will develop cutting‑edge AI features and own them from design through production, working with a small, collaborative team in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build end‑to‑end AI features such as RAG pipelines, agentic workflows and LLM apps on AWS Bedrock and Bedrock Knowledge Bases.
• Design and ship async Python services (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy 2 async, asyncpg) that stream live job progress via WebSocket/SSE.
• Develop and maintain features in a React/TypeScript portal used daily by global services teams.
• Own testing, CI, and observability to enable rapid, reliable releases.
• Learn and integrate Veeva Vault and CRM platform APIs.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience building and shipping production software used by real users.
• Strong Python background with hands‑on experience building async REST APIs (FastAPI preferred).
• Practical experience with at least one RAG or agentic AI application, understanding embeddings, vector search and prompting.
• Comfortable working across the stack, including React/TypeScript front‑end development.
• Proficient with SQL/PostgreSQL and Git‑based workflows.
• Foundational AWS knowledge, including IAM roles and container deployment (Docker).
