Senior Automation Engineer - Warehouse Automation

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer focused on warehouse automation software, integration and digital twin. The role designs, analyzes, modifies and integrates advanced robotics, automated material handling technologies and digital twin simulations to optimize warehouse operations. It acts as a technical lead, overseeing equipment and software integration and driving system reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyze, modify and integrate robotics, automated material handling and digital twin simulations to improve warehouse operations.
• Oversee warehouse equipment and software integration, develop preventative maintenance strategies and implement rapid interim solutions for system disruptions or safety risks.
• Act as technical lead: drive reliability improvements, enforce configuration controls and ensure software-hardware interfaces follow standard operating procedures.
• Lead complex system integrations, mentor junior team members and use data-driven analytics to improve throughput, safety and availability.
• Manage technical scope, mitigate integration risks and coordinate priorities across cross-functional engineering teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5-8 years of experience in warehouse automation engineering, system integration, software controls or digital twin development.
• Experience developing, testing and validating preventative maintenance plans and emergency safety protocols for automated equipment.
• Proven experience managing software and engineering change controls per standard operating procedures.
• Experience defining system-level test plans and driving data-driven continuous improvement.
• Previous leadership, cross-functional project coordination or engineering mentorship experience preferred.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of warehouse automation systems, control architectures, robotics and digital twin simulation tools.
• Strong proficiency in software-to-hardware integration, data visualization and statistical modeling for performance optimization.
• Ability to lead root-cause investigations and write test plans, validation strategies and configuration documentation.
