Category Manager – Electronics & Semiconductors

About the role

HARMAN is looking for a Category Manager in Budapest to manage supplier relationships and drive category strategy for its electronics and semiconductor supply base. The role acts as the escalation and communication point between HARMAN International and the supply partner.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships across contracts, pricing, supply assurance and conflict resolution
• Develop and run sub-category strategies in line with the global category lead, business units, engineering, quality and manufacturing
• Coordinate procurement and supply chain functions with senior stakeholders and negotiate annual global prices
• Drive make vs. buy decisions, identify and develop new suppliers, and manage supplier portfolios and performance
• Identify and document cost-reduction potential, set goals and run business reviews with monthly reporting
• Maintain change-management records and SAP master data, and monitor global procurement markets

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or Business Administration
• 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in procurement, program sourcing, engineering, quality or product development
• Experience in electronic component procurement is a strong advantage
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally 10-20%
• Nice to have: German or Chinese, semiconductors/electronics sourcing background, global mindset
